In 1997 the hamlets of the Municipality of Peccioli come into play. The new initiative, organised by Antonella Soldaini, sparks from the end of the restoration work on the frescoes of a tabernacle by Benozzo Gozzoli. Intended as a work of art inserted in an environmental context, the tabernacle becomes an opportunity for reflection.
The three artists Umberto Cavenago, Fortuyn / O’Brien and Alberto Garutti are called to work on the hamlets of Ghizzano, Fabbrica and Montecchio; they are given the opportunity to choose the area in which to intervene and the space in which to locate their work.
