Untitled

On Via Cavour, the artwork pays tribute to Moreno Argentin, winner of the Peccioli Trophy in 1983 and 1990; Gianni Bugno, champion in 1987; and Maurizio Fondriest, who won the editions in 1989 and 1994. It enriches the mural created two years ago featuring portraits of Giuseppe Sabatini, Francesco Moser, Giambattista Baronchelli, and Giuseppe Saronni.

Via Cavour thus becomes a place dedicated to the memory and celebration of the most beloved sport in Peccioli, while also serving as a pillar supporting new champions, as the finish line for the Coppa Sabatini has always been located on the parallel Via Mazzini.

Riccardo Burchielli, the internationally successful Peccioli artist and cartoonist, comments: “I wanted to represent three great figures of our cycling with color and energy, with the same impact and passion with which they have always distinguished themselves in their sport. With the same celebration and enthusiasm that cycling brings to every passage through the beautiful villages of Italy. Illuminating them.”
