A dialogue between past and present, between rural architectures and "luminarie": the work installed in Peccioli represents a large architecture of light. For Marinella Senatore “The phrase Dance First Think Later is a quote from Samuel Beckett, and it was very important for me to include it in the work because I believe that phrases related to empowerment have the power to speak to communities and give voice to social issues. Ultimately, my luminaria aims to be a monument to the individual and the community, a true celebration, and a dynamic catalyst for social change.”
This work is also deliberately placed in the peri-urban area of Peccioli, reinforcing an ideal connection between the inhabited space and the rural area of the Serre, which have already been related through the Palazzo Senza Tempo, its panoramic terrace, and Marinella Senatore's other work, We Rise by Lifting Others.
Dance First Think Later is a deeply political thought and consists of building a ritual space, a community, however temporary, fluid, diverse, and unexpected. The work has been created on one of the farms that have characterized the landscape of the Serre for centuries, from which the families now living in Peccioli originate. Natural landscape and humanized landscape converse with each other.
